My name is Gary Wyatt. I was named after my mother's late brother Gary Dale Phillips, and the infamous Wyatt Earp. For some reason in the South, people can't pronounce Wyatt. It's always "Whit, White, Whyatt". Even less can pronounce Bumgarner. So since I was young I have went by GW. I grew up in a rodeo family. My dad and uncle rode bulls and roped, but I never enjoyed getting rag dolled by a bull. So it was the horse life for me.
At 19 I moved to Louisiana and trained horses of all disciplines. Track racing, cutting horses, jumpers, and my favorite BARREL HORSES! I was blessed to get to travel the western US competing at some of the highest ranking shows in the country. At that time I had an incredible equine partner named Fesses Hit aka Louie. Louie was trained and futuritied by the late, great Scott Kennedy. Louie won me everything I entered, even out running some famous NFR girls. Sadly, Louie passed in 2018 from a barn fire that took everything I owned except my retired horse Ima Pacific Dust Storm. His legacy lives on in every single horse I ride. Louie was patient enough to teach me. He taught me how to compete on and ride a 1D horse, while also teaching me to remain humble and patient. I will forever be thankful for the places he took me. I owe it to him to pass on the knowledge he and so many others have left me.
In 2024 I am blessed to say I have a barn full of incredible horses. I have devoted my life to chasing the dream of training, competing with, and producing high quality horses and shows.
